Sneem Summer Festival 2016

Description

Sneem Festival is one of the top festivals in Kerry. Kicking off with a children’s fancy dress parade, the kids can then bounce in the green while you sit back and enjoy the village barbeque. Take them crab and lake fishing. Have a giggle with laughter yoga. Visit the funfair. Take the family out on Kenmare Bay in motorised kayaks or get your friends together for a rib trip across the bay or deep-sea angling. Head to the mountains and enjoy breath-taking scenery on daily guided walks. Try out a workshop for children and adults – choose from puppet making, silk and pottery painting, mini-music, drum circle and pop-up choirs. For the more competitive among you, there are fun runs, football blitz, sheaf tossing, golf competitions, and, of course, the National Wife-Carrying Competition. Bid for a piece of furniture that is a work of art in the Charity Auction supporting Autism this year. Watch the sheep shearing. Stroll around this colourful village, visit the country and craft market and enjoy the traditional village fete or just relax in one of the beautiful greens and watch the world go by.
