Micheál O’Mahony 1920 – 2001. He was the son of Daniel Mahony and Bridget Gallivan. His father died when Micheál was a child so Mahony became O’Mahony as a result of confusion about his father’s name. He was a member of Killorglin’s Laune Pipe Band in the 1940/50s and was a leading member of the Killorglin Historical Society. After getting married he relocated to Killarney but always remained first and foremost a proud Killorglin man.
