Teddy Bowler’s house on Caragh Lake Rd. , after turning left off the main road after the Red Fox . Back when this was taken it was a railway crossing.
The colourful barrel top wagons pulled in by the side of the Killarney Rd. The traveller’s liked to pull in here as it was near the River Laune , and so convenient for washing ,cooking , and drinking water for their horses . The Grove , a well known Killorglin landmark , is to be seen top left. The workers in the field are making winds of hay , a system used long before the advent of the baling machine. Circa 1950’s

Opening night of the CYMS hall , Killorglin 1954 with the Maurice Mulcahy band on stage. Faces: Gretta Breen of Langford Street, daughter of Maurice Breen Senior, Power House Manager. Gretta worked in Pretty Polly Killarney. Mary Ann Foley, dressmaker, Langford Street. Joe O’Shea, a woolbuyer of Langford Street, accomplished accordion player and singer, always supplied his wool lorry to ferry the Puck Goat around the festival.
