The Headstone with the names of the Volunteers in Irish (as Gaeilge) who drowned in the river Laune off  Ballykissane Pier on Good Friday 1916. They were the first casualties of the 1916 Easter Rising. A third volunteer Con Keating is buried in Kilnavarnogue Cemetery in his native Caherciveen. Ref: Kt255
