Killarney Walking Festival 2016

Description

Killarney Walking Festival takes place this June with a weekend of long relaxing guided walks and spectacular hikes. Walk where Druids and Na Fianna once roamed the mountains and discover the hidden valleys, mountains, reeks, lake shores and all that is beautiful and untamed about Killarney and its famed National Park. This festival is for everyone – families, walking clubs and anyone who loves the great outdoors. The schedule of walks has something for all ages and abilities, from strenuous category three hikes to easy low level category one walks. From the challenging McGillycuddy’s Reeks hike to the leisurely Wood trails and Innisfallen Island by boat. There are 13 guided walks to choose from in all. Other Signature walks include: The Coomloughra Horseshoe trek along the MacGillycuddy’s Reeks; Summit of Carrauntoohil; Sunset on Strickeen Mountain; Caherconree; Old Kenmare Road; Mangerton and Torc Mountain Paths; The Kerry Way – Gap of Dunloe; and Boat Trip and Walks in Killarney National Park. Celebrate a bit of Rí Rá and discover the mythology of the Kingdom of Kerry this June. And the fun doesn’t stop there with post walk entertainment lined up so the festival feeling can carry on late into the night!
