William was born on the 27th of July 1850 in Meanus, Killorglin to Patrick Geehan and Mary Shea. Patrick Geehan (Guihan) married Mary Shea in 1836 and lived in Meanus, Killorglin. Patrick’s brother John Geehan married to Mary Brosnahan lived on the same property.William Geehan immigrated to the US in 1873. William was employed by the Cheeney Silk Mill in Manchester, Connecticut where he met and then married Anna Nihill in 1876. Anna Nihill was born in Co.Clare. They had then ten children together born between 1878 and 1895. William is seen wearing a sash of the Hibernians, an Irish-American organisation. He died on the 9th June 1900. Ref: F400
