The Rambling House in The Kingdom Bar, K-Fest 2015 (Part 1).

The Rambling House has become an integral part of K-Fest. The Kingdom Bar has long been associated with music with sessions to be found there seven nights a week. The bar run by Neilie and Kathleen Doona and family since 1979. Sadly the bar closed its doors for the last time at the end of 2015.

Local historian Tom Doyle recounts the history behind the Ceannouvoree Biddy Ball, the story behind the song. This talk is introduced by Michael Houlihan, while our singer is Michaela Cahillane, her grandfather Johnny Cahillane plays fiddle for us, and Tom O’Connor accompanies on flute. The song itself was composed by James Cahillane, grandfather of Johnny, in 1918.
